an overdue update

there's been alot going on lately. i'll cut the snarky, cryptic posts, and let you in. last week the company i work for was sold by our parent company, to goldman sachs. i equate this to the most quirky vermont country store being purchased by walmart. yeah it's like that.

there's three months for the "deal to close" aka to convince our clients this is good. when the deal closes, a group will be let go, three months after that, another group will be let go, and then at the end of the year, another group. i'm in the "end of the year" bucket. it's good and bad either way. it's kid of delaying the inevitable, and ripping the band-aid REALLY slow. but it gives me a longer runway to look for a new job. as i reach out to people i've been really encouraged by their willingness to help out, and talk to people they know. that's awesome! and i'm really excited to see what god has planned next!

obviously it's bad not to have a job so that stinks, but i've been processing the loss of "the everything else". though this was my first real job out of school, i knew there were plenty of not normal things going on, and kept saying "don't take advantage of this--it's not normal" you know, things like coffee all the time, 25 cent vending machines, that sometimes had PBR in them. kegs at 4, sometimes 3 on fridays sometimes tuesdays, pizza friday, a gym, hike day, ski day, all the federal holidays off, an amazing view, and deck....and the people. my coworkers are awesome. some are crazy, for sure. but they're wonderful, and to that end. i am really sad to leave them.

Perhaps they will realize what a gem you are, and promote you rather than demote you.
