Garden Update

Well, the summer is coming to a close...the chilly mornings and shortening daylight are big indicators, but our garden is also clearing out. The tomatoes, carrots, beets, and acorn squash, are done. We've still got kale and chard, bless their hearts, they keep on going! And the ever loved et prolific yellow summer squash. Our butternut squash & brussel sprouts still have a few more weeks, and the raspberries are coming along very nicely!

This is a real conversation that transpired in the garden:
Teacher: Ladies, what did you do with all those yellow squash you picked the other day (we had like 7).
Me: Well, I made some muffins, and we haven't gotten much further than that. They had oatmeal, and cream cheese frosting.
Girl: Woah, those are sexy. I mean that's not your grandmas bran muffin.

oh crap, i thought that would be like the "sensual" or "sultry" muffin. your muffins are so naughty.
