Saturday evening was my company picnic, held on the shores of Lake Champlain at “The Grand Isle Lake House” on Grand Isle (one of the Champlain Islands).
It was a gorgeous estate (essentially the type of place you’d love to have a wedding reception at if money was no issue). The food was out-of-control amazing- including but not limited to: gazpacho, not your average spinach dip, chicken satay skewers, green salad with creamy avocado dressing, Asian broccoli salad, amazing mashed potatoes, salmon, portabella ravioli, and flank steak.
Some memorable quotes:
“Meredith, are you getting carded at your company picnic?” – a coworker to me (it’s true!)
“Only at a corporate picnic in Vermont would the band be covering a Bob Marley song” –Beth (also true)
